Getting Stronger

So... Emmie is getting stronger each day. Since she was just a wee one (not that she is very big now, but...) she has been able to lift her head so straight up and check things out. She has always been very observant. Her nickname is "Stevie" because she is constantly looking side to side and does a good imitation of Stevie Wonder. Now, after being given some good "tummy time" she is pushing her head and chest off the floor and looking around. She is also dying to sit up. She is getting lots of crunches in as she continues to try. She just wants to get moving so soon!

A good self soother, I caught her with her thumb in her mouth hugging Mr. Giraffe

Now for the good stuff... checking out the jungle scene
Oh, hey Mommy!

Oh boy! Look how strong I am getting!

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day! Emmie had fun getting dressed up in her clover dress for her party at "school" (aka. daycare). She looked like a little leprachaun. Our first weekend of Spring was great. The weather was beautiful, just perfect to sit on a patio and have a cold beer. The weekend rounded out at Mimi and Papa's on the patio enjoying the sun.
Her sleep schedule has changed. Sleeping through the night was a true treat, but lately she has been waking up between 3a and 4a after she falls asleep around 10p or 11p. So mornings have to start a lot earlier, for me atleast. I end up feeding her again before we leave for "school". This morning I ended up getting barfed on right before we left AND had to change a dirty diaper. I need to start factoring these things into my daily routine to give me enough time.
Little Leprachaun
Kiss me I'm Irish (maybe 1/4 or 1/5 haha)I just look really pretty here. Just excited to spend the weekend with my parents!

I love kicking and this is the perfect toy. It plays sounds and songs and keeps me busy!I got dressed up for church and was such a good girl. I liked all the music and singing!
This is Mr. Giraffe. I got him in a headlock!

Leopard Print Debut

Well, this weekend was a rainy one. Unfortunately, we couldn't get out too much. We made it to dinner to sushi on Friday and Loca Luna for Chrissy and Katie G.'s birthday on Saturday. Emmie joined us for her first trip to Sushi Mania, but let her Uncle Santi and Aunt Ashley watch her on Saturday while we went to dinner. Other than that just did some house chores. Anyway, last week was a smidge easier than the week before. I still cried my eyes out on Monday. Let's hope tomorrow is not as bad. I think my new plan will be to have Brent drop Emmie off on Mondays and maybe a couple other days of the week. I am tired of the constant tears.

Champ is in for a boring weekend
Glad to be home from school and spend time with Mommy & Daddy

She only has eyes for Daddy

Yikes! There is a leopard in our bed!

Ouch!

Little Emmie had her first set of shots today. Poor baby! She had 2 shots in one thigh, 1 shot in the other, and a liquid to top it off. She is covered with band-aids. It was awful! No delayed reaction on the cry. It was immediate. She turned red as a tomato and cried so hard she had real tears rolling down her face. It was pitiful. Yes, Mom cried, but nothing compared to dropping her off at daycare for the first time. That will be hard to beat. We are getting used to daycare, a little, but Emmie already has a cough and cold. They call it the "welcome package". Well, it breaks my heart, but I hope she will be tough from it in the end. Nana is going to watch her tomorrow and give her the day off. She needs the rest and personalized attention!
She is growing like a weed! Where has my newborn peanut gone?
10 pounds 13 ounces & 23 inches
Before the shots. She had no idea what was coming.
On our way out. Calmed down with the help of paci.

Babies are can definitely be fussy post-shots. This is how the night has been going.

Snow Day 2009 and my first day back!

Today was my first day back to work and quite the emotional day. It was the start to my next adjustment period. I asked Brent to drop Emmie off at her first day of "school" (code for daycare). I didn't want my morning to start off with a bunch of tears, but it did anyway. Work was very busy for my first day back. I left for lunch and went to visit Emmie. She was asleep on the floor in her Boppy pillow. There was a little girl screaming in her ear, but somehow she was able to sleep through it. I left work as soon as I could and picked her up. I just couldn't wait to get there and hold her.
