14 months ( almost 15) and many changes

I haven't blogged much lately. Things have been busy. between being pregnant, running around after Emmie, working and selling a house my time has been limited. I have also been taking this photography course which keeps me pretty occupied. But I love it!
Emmie is going to be 15 months old next week. She is changing daily. We have been dealing with a great deal of seperation anxiety. It is really awful when she constantly says "Bye-Bye" and thinks you are going to leave her all the time. We are working on it, but from what I read it is a phase that will pass. Just not sure when.
She isn't eating much. She likes bananas, some other fruits, cheese, macaroni, rice, pizza and that is about it. This is the girl who used to eat EVERYTHING on her plate- all vegetables included. I suppose another phase.
She has become pretty stubborn. If she has her coat or bib on she wants to keep them on. The only time I can get them off is if we are about to take a bath. This really goes for any article of clothing, but the coats and bibs in particular. So many of my pictures lately have her inside the house or wherever in her coat!

Sleeping has improved. She isn't waking up in the middle of the night and is sleeping until 7 most mornings. Amen! The "cry it out method" was tough, especially at 3am-4am, but it worked!
She is funny. She knows when she does something bad, like hitting, and will say "not nice". But now, even if she falls on her own or if you bump into her she wil look at you, wave her finger and say "not nice". She even reprimanded Champ the other day after he ran into her. We laugh at her a lot.

She loves books and is finally at the stage where she will sit and pay attention- at least for a few minutes. She especially loves rocking and reading "A Night Night Prayer" before "night-night" time.

She points to my belly and says "baby". We have that down. Know we are trying to tell her that the baby in my belly is her sister. We are working on it. Thankfully we have a few more months to get that down.

She is a piece of work and definitely keeps us on our toes. She is obsessed with going outside and loves exploring. It is amazing how fast and drastically things change with these little ones. It is hard to believe she will soon have to share the spotlight. We are excited and know she will be a great big sister!

This is what it is like when your 14 month old starts back talking. She likes to wave the finger and tell you what she really thinks. She talks so much and for so long, I actually have time to pick up my camera and capture the moment. She is so dang smart. We have to be on our toes!

But this is what is like when she is sweet as an angel. Giggly, smiley and playful. Moments like this I am glad to have my camera to snap away in hopes of catching the perfect picture. Paparazzi mom!

Spring is in the air

What a day! Emmie had a good 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep and was happy as a clam all day. She couldn't have been a sweeter or cuter little girl today. We had a "Girl's Day", just mommy and Emmie.

We started the day by putting our house on the market. Sad, but not real sad until it actually sells. The market isn't a great one for sellers, so we will just wait and see. We may end up staying put, but only time will tell.

I'm not sure if she is too happy about this situation...

Then, we went on a walk to pick up Daddy's car. On the way we stopped and had lunch on the patio at Verde. Emmie was a hit and everyone loved her. She loved her cheese quesadilla.

We went to the park and played on the swing and with the toy cars. By the time we were finished there she was exhausted! The park was awesome today, full of little ones, sunny, with a slight breeze.

We headed to Mimi and Papa's. Emmie played with the neighbor's 2 little girls. Drawing with sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles and playing basketball. Champ enjoyed himself too and ran himself tired!

Happy Spring! Don't you just love it!?!

It's been awhile

Apparently, I have taken a bit of a hiatus from the blog. Yikes!

Well, its been for good reason. Brent and I took a little vaca- to Steamboat, CO.

You may be asking yourself, why is a pregnant women hitting the ski slope? Well, we planned the trip prior to finding out I was pregnant. And I didn't hit the slopes. I wanted to terribly, but then you read up on the risks of possibly falling or having someone run into you and you get a bit scared. So I read and napped. Things I don't get to do normally. I hit the spa for a pregnancy massage, mani and pedi. I hung out at Slopeside...

and had a couple non-alcoholic beers. Very anticlimactic, but it made me feel part of the crowd. And honestly, I like the taste of a beer every once in awhile and the Beck's treated me to that.

We went with Brent's buddies and their friends friends. It was random, but fun. Brent skiied his face off. His knee held up and I don't think we will have to go through another round of surgery (thank heavens).

We have also been prepping our house for a probable sale. Putting a house on the market is no joke. Ugh! Kyle, our realator and friend, has us in high gear. With Baby 2 on the way we are quickly running out of space in our sweet little home. Emmie's toys take up most of the space. So I have been slightly overwhelmed as you can imagine. We don't have to move, but we are going to roll the dice and see what happens.

Dealing with fever/illnesss #100 of Emmie's awful winter. I swear there has to be an end in sight with Spring on the way, but only time will tell.

I have also started a photography course which is so fun and interesting. But I have homework each week. The homework is fun, but it still has a deadline.

Baby 2 has started moving in full force and has been hungry. Note to self, don't make a batch of brownies while pregnant or this is what will happen. Brownies are the one thing that I have no self control over. I am ashamed to post this picture, but I am hoping it will prevent this from happening again! I never forgot how those litle kicks felt. It truely is awesome and I love it! We still do not have a name yet, but we are working on it. Stay posted.

Would you believe it if I told you this 14 month old has started to test my limits. I need advice. She is so sweet... most of the time. But she is really, really smart. She is just pushing buttons to see how far she can go. I am chalking it up to a phase. I keep telling her that I am the adult and make the rules, but feel like I am wrestling a lion half the time. My parents tell me not to give in to her now or I will have a mess on my hands when the new baby comes. This is when parenting gets tough. She has always been a good sleeper, but goes through phases along the way. I guess I feel it more now because I am tired and pregnant. She is just so dang smart and learning her limits is all part of the gig. I am the one who is having a hard time with it, but we will make it through this together. And I will soak up the sweet moments when I can.
