Happy Father's Day

Father's Day didn't really go as expected. Emmie had a terrible stomach bug and spent Saturday vomiting. First time she did it was on our way home from breakfast in "The Chariot". Brent got this for his birthday and it has officially been Christened. Not as we had planned, but... Poor thing. We all know how it feels to have a stomach bug and you can only imagine how pitiful this sweet little thing looked and felt. I am amazed that Brent and I have not come down with it. We were up to our knees in puke, yuck!

By Sunday afternoon, after some pedialyte and saltines, the Eminator was running around after her cousins. It is amazing how kids bounce back. Just in time to for father's day celebration at Mimi and Papa's. Once she felt better she was hard to keep still, so I didn't capture a very good pic of her and her daddy.

Once she felt better, she was on the go...

McCay gets a workout pushing her around all day. Check out his guns!

Emmie and her cousins (Connor, McCay and Noelle)

And last, but not least... Emmie and her Daddy. Happy 2nd Father's Day! Anabelle is going to be just as lucky as Emmie to have a Daddy like you!

Child of the week

Emmie was student of the week this week. She had a bulletin board of her pictures displayed and got extra special attention at school. She got to choose the book that was read to the class each day and got to sit in the teachers lap when reading. She also got first ride on the wagon and got paraded around while she waved like a princess. She got to walk with the teachers to help get water for outside play time. She was able top choose a special snack to have on Friday, banana popsicles for her and her friends.

Blogging for the birds

I used to take a picture of myself each month I was pregnant to document the growing belly. Opps! Looks like I missed the boat this time around. I just hope I can document little Miss Anabelle's first year like I did for the Emster. I have that goal set for myself, but don't mark that in blood. I have felt more of the contractions this time around. I bit stronger or atleast more noticeable than with Emmie. I am hungry... all the time. Having a harder time breathing and sleeping than I ever remember. Everything hurts. But I am getting so excited. Brooke and Micheal welcomed Mary Julia 1 week ago and she is precious.

Miss Mary Julia
Being around her has definitely sparked my excitement. Only a few more weeks. Mother nature is funny. All these feelings you have during the last part of pregnancy seem to fade when you decide to grow your family. I guess that is how God works. I don't remember feeling like this the first time around. Brent says he remembers the complaining so I guess it is that "pregnancy/labor amnesia" kicking in.

Happy Birthday Brent

Really behind. Really. The least I can do is give Big Daddy a post for his birthday. Amazing how times have changed. Each year gets a little less enthusiastic. Haha. His birthday always lands on Memorial Day weekend, so we head to the lake. Emmie LOVES it there and loves riding on the boat with her daddy!

Daddy got to do some fishing on his birthday. His favorite past time...
Emmie watched. And waited, and waited. She didn't get to see one though. The fish fell off the line before it made it to the boat.

So we headed back to the house. Emmie in her usual position, on daddy's lap.

We had dinner at a cute little restaurant in downtown Hartwell. I probably owe Brent a dinner out by ourselves. It is just a little different when the kids are around :)

Emmie, Daddy and Pops

Just the 3 of us!

And the quiet birthday cake celebration after Emmie was in bed. Nothing better than an ice cream cake, especially for the preggers!

We finished off the weekend with floating in the lake, wakeboarding and friends. The Hinsons and Simmons joined us. While moms and babies relaxed and played, the big boys (aka. Daddies) drank beer and lounged on the rafts.

And one last shot... Emmie on the dock in her life vest. She has to wear it all the time because you just never know when Champ will fly by and knock her over. My biggest fear!

Happy birthday Brent! I hope you had a great weekend. You deserve it. You are the best husband and "Dada" ever. WE all love you very, very much! Love, Me, Emmie, Anabelle and Champ

11 great years

I got my official first car the summer going into my sophmore year of college. I had a car in high school but it was always a hand me down from my parents or brothers. During my freshman year of college I bummed rides with all my friends and hopped on the cool UGA bus when needed. So I was pretty darn excited when I got my first real ride. Of course I had to put my UGA sticker on the back window with the sorority letters too. Duh! It didn't get much mileage because I was sworn to 1000 miles or less a month. So she never took too many road trips during college, but she was great at getting around Athens.

After college she made some trips to Hilton Head and St Simons. We took her down to GA/FLA one year and the window broke. We had to ride home from St. Simons with our North faces on, heat blasting and holding onto the window to keep it from falling all the way down. Disaster, but funny memory.

She loved Atlanta in her prime. She even toted around Emmie for the past year. She was part of the family. I was sad to part from her, but not that sad.

My new ride is amazing and it will take some time to get used to. When my friend Brooke asked me what I got I said "mini van". The look on her face was priceless. I am not dissing mini vans, but unless I am a full time passenger enjoying all the "perks" of a mini van, I don't want to drive one. The new black beauty is amazing and smells like new car. The best!

So... toast to the beast! I hope she treats her next owner just as good. But, don't think I am crying as I am driving the kiddos around in one of these...

Oh, my parents watched Emmie so we could go pick up the new beauty. When we came home this is what we found... Sacked out!
