Some may call me crazy...

One of the hardest parts of being a mom of 2 under 2 is time management, especially if hubby is traveling. Trying to figure out when to feed Anabelle so it doesn't interfer with Emmie's time or so that she will nap during Emmie's bathtime. Or making sure Emmie is napping so I can spend some time with the Anabelle. Blah, blah, blah. I could go on and on. It isn't much different than trying to figure things out when you are a first time mom, just times 2. So here is my new big accomplishment. Bathing the 2 at the same time. Some may call it unsafe as Emmie is trying to cover Anabelle's face with a washcloth, but all in all, it goes fairly well.

Day 'o fun with Papa

I have been seeing signs about the Atlanta Botanical Gardens everywhere lately... MARTA bus that drives by, TV commercials, billboards, etc. So I thought it was calling me. I have really only been there once for a wedding and it was raining. They have an exhibit, "Scarecrows in the Garden", for the month of October. I thought, what better way to spend a perfect fall Friday before Halloween than to take Emmie to see the scarecrows.

Papa joined us for the ride. Emmie had a blast! She loved the scarecrows, flowers and waterfalls. Every 2 seconds, she would say "Look at thaaaaat". Despite the upper respiratory infection we have been fighting, she loved it!

We had to stop at every exhibit and touch and see!

whats goin' on?

Well, I have been M.I.A. for a while. I am still trying to get this "mom of two" thing done. But I have tried to keep the camera near by. Although, one thing I have been bad about is not recharging my battery! I have found myself in places with a dead camera. Bad mommy!

We enjoyed the Braves post season. I only wish they would have beat the Giants. I haven't been this obsessed with baseball... ever!

We brought the tomahawks home and guess who wanted Anabelle to play with them?

Mary Julia came over to play one day. I was able to manage 2, but thankfully Emmie was at school. She is one of the girls BFFs.

The Dawgs have been playing better, and are actually worth watching lately. Emmie loves shoes and decided to watch the game in her diaper and mommy's Toms. Brent missed a home game for the first time in years last weekend. Emmie came down with a virus and a fever of 103.6. It lasted about 48-72 hours and cold symptoms followed. So Daddy stayed with us to help our little girl get better. Not to mention, Daddy ended up coming down with the same virus and a temp of 104!

Anabelle sitting in her darn bouncy chair. Do you think I always have her there? I do a lot of the time, especially if Emmie is around. It is just really hard when Emmie wants me to hold her. I have to put A-belle down. So she has grown real close to the bouncy chair!

Making milkshakes for snack time. Have you ever tried Yoplait frozen fruit/yogurt blends? They come in a package in the freezer section. It is frozen fruit and yogurt, add milk, blend and wha-la! She loved it! And it is healthy.
Baby doll is one of Emmie's coloring buddies. I love it when I am in another room and come back around to find something like this set up... It just makes me laugh!

Anabelle has her hands in her mouth non stop and is drooling like a fool. I guess we know what this means... teething!

Unfortunately, Emmie has been to time out quite often lately. The other day I told her to "Get to her room". She had to stay there until she could get under control (less than 5 minutes). Well, I walked around the corner to find her sending paper out into the hallway!

And my little Belley-Boo has been rolling over. Here she is hanging out on her tummy mat. She looks nothing like her daddy, does she? Yeah, right!

And, here are sisters at a sweet time. Just watching Barney. Who, might I add, has saved me with some songs about buckling up and brushing teeth. Emmie likes to protest these things. All I do is whip out a Barney song and she starts to cooperate... Amazing what a purple dinosaur can do.

My Mom found these chairs. They are perfect. Emmie got to choose which one she wanted. She choose the Frog so Anabelle gets the Hippo. The progression of these are so funny to me.

Gymnastics is over

Sad but true. Gymnastics ended. I only wish I had taken pictures of Emmie getting her ribbon on the last day, but I just didn't have enough hands. Here are some of the last pictures of her at the gym. I think we will have to sign up for another session. She loved it!

I highly recommend it. She had a blast and learned so many new tricks!

Emmie's 21 month visit

Looks like our little squirt is growing! She is actually 50th percentile for both height and weight. I don't think she has ever been more than the 10th percentile. She weighed in at a whopping 25 pounds and was 32.25 inches tall. Her doctor's visits are changing. She knew at the time we got in there that she wasn't going to like it. Dr. Vic was surprised at how well she was speaking and that she knew her ABC's and can count to 20. Something I may not have bragged about here yet. I am still not sure if she learned it from me, Brent, school or Sesame Street. At this point I am not sure that it really matters. I am proud of her that she can do this. She loves reading books and I love when I find her reading to herself or her friends in her room. She is starting to remember certain stories and recite them back. It is really amazing how much she is learning and changing in such a short period of time.

The doctor and I spent most of the time discussing how I can get more vegetables into her diet. I will keep you posted and let you know how it goes. One winner is sweet potato fries. She loves them and doesn't know the difference between those and real ones. One loser... "squash fries". It was an experiment that failed terribly. I wouldn't recommend it. Most of the time if you call it a fry she will eat it. Not in this case though.

She got shots and of course she cried. But is was short lived. Nothing a pumpkin sticker could not take care of.

She is growing like a weed! And, what is up with the glasses you may ask? Not sure, but I keep finding her wearing them. Too funny.

Oh and here is my little chunker at 3 months. No stats until 4 months.

Little House of Art

We tried out a new place in Brookhaven the other day. The Little House of Art. It was great. Emmie had a blast. She created her own canvas painting. A little pricey, but better the mess be made there rather than my house.
