Summer portraits

We had our summer pictures taken and it was hotter than crazy! Sweat was dripping down our back, legs, hair matted to our foreheads. But somehow Kristin makes them look good. Lord only knows how much photoshop it takes. Pictures were taken by kristinleighphotography.com.

Before I get to those, can you believe this gem I found in the archive of photos. Hilarious!!! Found just in time for football season.

Get well soon Pops

Emmie and Anabelle love their Pops soooooooo much. He recently had surgery and the girls spent a lot of time creating some pictures (some more than others- Emmie). Check her picture out. It is covered in stickers. There was no stopping her- and she actually added a good 10 more prior to delivery. Anabelle added a few stickers later on as a final touch, but her coloring is top notch. Pops did great and now these pictures bring a little more cheer to his room!

Swim lessons

We took private lessons throughout the summer and had a really great teacher. Emmie was paired up with a little boy her same age and they were a great match. Emmie can't stand getting her face wet and her friend Cooper just dives in, no fear. We need to work on it next summer. She did get better as the summer progressed. I wish this pool was in my backyard.

Summertime!

Summer has been a hot one. With every day in the 90s or higher, it has been a challenge to get outside. We have made the best of it and have been having fun a long the way.

Anabelle is really coming into her own. She has such a personality and loves her big sister. Here she is tickling Emmie. It was really such a cute sister moment.

We have spent many days at the pool. Here are some of the friends. Ellie, Mary Julia, Will and Anabelle (freaking out!)

Emmie finds ways to have fun with Daddy. She truly is a peanut.

We had a playdate with Mary Julia and her mommy at the Roswell splash grounds. It was great and the girls had a picnic afterwards. These three are a site.

Anabelle has started snuggling up to her cousin McCay. We have had some good cousin time, but the girls always want more

Anabelle has figured out that she and Emmie can play some while they are in their seats. This is a rare happy sister carseat moment.

Anabelle is 1

Happy Birthday to our little monkey. Anabelle has been such a blessing to this family. There were so many adjusments for this family as we have grown this past year. But we couldn't be happier. Anabelle is such a joy. She makes us (especially sister) laugh often, smile and wonder in amazement how you can love your children so much.

At one year old...

Anabelle started walking full force on Fourth of July weekend. We were at the lake with the Nichols clan and she just took off. She eats everything. I love when Emmie says "A-belle eats peas. Peas are fo babies". Anabelle loves books and will literally throw them at you when she wants you to read them. She has learned to adapt well, as her sister constantly steals her toys and books. They do play together sometimes. She has 4 teeth on top and 2 on bottom. She wears a size 4 shoe. She knows most of her animal sounds and has quite a growing vocabulary. She goes to sleep about 7pm and wakes up about 7am. She plays in her bed so quietly until we go get her. We read one or two books at night, but she is usually ready to hit the sack. Usually she lays right down and puts herself to sleep. She still has her paci, but we will wean to naptime and bedtime only. She LOVES her bunny and baby dolls.
